MOZZA CHEESE STICKS

So I tried these mozza sticks at a local pub and I fell in love. I actually have never tried these before but its basically melted cheese string with a crunch on the outside. They were magical.

These are extremely easy to make, but there are stations you should set up to make this a lot more efficient.

  1. Place parchment paper, or greased foil on a baking pan and preheat your oven to 350F.
  2. Cut your brick of mozzarella cheese into 1 inch thick and 1 inch wide and as long as you would like it to be and set it aside.
  3. In a small bowl, beat your egg (or eggs) until completely beaten, and slightly foamy.  (Station 1)
  4. Now combine your Italian seasoning and as much breadcrumbs as you need (about ½ cup for 5 cheese sticks) and toss them quickly on a pan until golden and set them in a bowl  (station 2)
  5. Now dip your mozzarella stick into the egg completely, and then roll it around in the breadcrumbs until completely covered and set it on the baking tray. Repeat this step until all your cheese sticks are covered.
  6. Now place the cheese sticks into the oven and bake for about 5-7 minutes

*Don’t worry if your cheese melts through the crumbs, they will still taste great.

Tip: you can add whatever kind of flavoring you like, such as cayenne for spice, garlic powder for more kick, etc.

You can eat this with ketchup, tarter sauce, anything you can think of, be creative!  But most of all enjoy!
